I am thinking of buying an out of date Lifeline zero 2000 electrical fire extinguisher system Does it matter when it was last serviced?
Yes. Lifeline stipulate that it needs to be serviced continuously every two years.
The other thing to be aware of is that the Lifeline bottle is not serviceable once it is 10 years old, There will be a manufactured date on the label. Also if the bottle is dented or has any other signs of damage other than scratched paint we may not be able to service the bottle.
If it is the 4ltr electrical bottle you are looking at, check if it has not been set off, if it has the re-arm service is double that of a mechanical system.
To be honest buying a second hand bottle can be fraught with unforeseen issues such as plumbing compatibility, power module etc.
