I have a heavily modified Lotus Elan that has been converted for sprints and hillclimbs. I see AP600 Racing Brake Fluid should be used for track work only. I do drive to some events on the road. What disadvantages are there with AP600 on the road ?
AP600 is sold as a racing fluid and does not carry any DOT rating and is not suitable for road use. In racing applications it is it frequently bled and replaced in the system. If you want something with this high spec and do not want to change it frequently you could look at the Castrol SRF but this is very expensive, if you are not putting the fluid through viscous heat cycles I would think something like the Castrol React Super dot 4 would be suitable, we sell this a lot for circuit race cars without any problems, so I think it should be fine for short runs.
